More pizza and potatoes

Having failed to provide a picture last time I posted on the subject, here is a pizza I made last week iPizzancorporating almost everything I could find in the kitchen: peppers, pineapple, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes… and some home-grown rocket. It was enormous – the size of a baking sheet, and no, I didn’t eat it all myself!

This morning, before the rain set in, I dug up the remains of our potato crop – a very pleasing big bag full. The joy of digging up potatoes has not worn off, and it was still exciting to uncover them, lurking in little clusters just below the surface. Now I have to work out what to put in that bed for the autumn.

I also harvested four raspberries from our novice canes, taking the total raspberry count so far to … six. Given that we weren’t expecting them to fruit until next year, that’s not bad, and there are some more on the way, so we might make double figures, but I don’t think raspberry jam is going to be happening just yet.
